Time Without Pity

Titel: Time Without Pity / Min son skall hängas
Genre: Kriminaldrama/Mysterium
Land: Storbritannien
År: 1957
Regi: Joseph Losey
I rollerna: Michael Redgrave, Leo McKern, Ann Todd, Paul Daneman

SPT #14 Movies

"Lelly's October SPT Theme is the following....
"this month, we will consult our 100 lists. it's quite simple, really. on the 7th of the month. post an spt about item #7 on your list. on the 14th of the month, post an spt about item #14. and so on. and so on."

14. I am a movie snob. The industry has jaded me, one small flaw in the script, makeup, continuity, art direction.... and that is all I can focus on... I appreciate a movie well made.

Casino Royal 007 James Bond.. All I could watch was the main actresses bleeding lipstick and inconsistent smokey runny eyemakeup, ruined the whole movie for me..

10000 BC .... okay at least get an actress with real blue eyes and brown hair. Her contacts were painfully obvious and her overdrawn eyebrows looked stenciled on at times. And I love Steven Strait, but the pearly white teeth in this movie killed me. Every actor had veneers... Eragon-I could ramble for hours about this horrid movie. I LOVE the books, and this script was pathetic, the art direction was low budget and obviously zero research was done. This character Arya is an elf, who is a warrior with pointed ears, ebony hair and clad in black leather with a wispy yet deadly bow. EXCUSE ME-round ears, red hair, a boney weapon and a freakin DRESS for crying out loud. Every time she was on the screen I wanted to get up and leave the theatre it was so bad, but my kids were there. Oh and there is a MAJOR spoiler in the movie as well!

Anyway this gives you an idea of how I watch a movie. I could rake on many more but I shall quit here.

Needless to say I do not own many movies. My kids and husband give me books and movies on special occasions, so I don't run out and randomly buy my favorites, unless it is a new release book that I cannot wait to read. I have yet to be gifted my favorite movie of all time "Gone With the Wind". My list really isn't very long. I prefer to only own movies I can enjoy time and time again without getting sick of it. There are many movies that are so very well made that affect me so much I cannot watch them again, like Titanic, Unfaithful, Shindlers List, The Color Purple etc. Here we have my lofty selection of movies that for me are pure entertainment.Knights Tale (cute boy period love story and great music), Count of Monte Cristo (very well made, even for an adaptation), I Love You to Death (hilarious performances way overlooked flick), Three Musketeers (cute boys, adventure, sword fighting and Alexandre Dumas, what a soup), Wizard of Oz (but of course)

Tell me... What is your favorite movie... and your least favorite, and tell me why?

Martha Madness!!

I am a huge fan of Martha Stewart's Halloween ideas. This year as I unloaded my ridiculous number of tubs and placed the decor in their usual places, I was appalled! I've painted since last Halloween and everything CLASHED! It looked horribly chauchkey! So I dove into my old Martha Halloween mags for inspiration. Here we have Martha's Glittered Bones. I found this baskety cake holder at Savers, spray painted it and filled it accordingly. click here for the know how. This one I'm not finished with but I had to post before its too late. My blogging time is almost up until next week. I'll update with the finished look. This is what it is going to look like.
Remember the post about getting rid of your ivy. Well here is what I did with all of my old ivy vines a few years ago. Painted the faux vines black for another eerie Martha idea from 2003. Mine are looking a bit sparse from years of use, do I dare buy more ivy?
Now this is all me.. Savers-shawl Dollar Tree-pumpkins, wreath base, spider bowls, candles. Garage Sales-candle holder and sconces. Jo Annes-feathers for wreath and nevermore bird.
You'll have to excuse me now, I must tend to the crafting mess I've created the last few days..
Show me some of your eerie ideas! I'd love to hear your comments.

Well this SPT has forced me to do "the list". I must admit it was fun. So here is my #7.

7. I make my family crazy with Halloween, I love it more than Christmas.

My husband is a firm believer that all of your likes and dislikes, personalities, faults, abilities, etc. stem from your childhood. He never fails to link something about me back to my childhood. Well this definitely applies.
I grew up well.... I won't sugar coat it... poor. So, my sisters and I didn't have the latest and greatest in fashion trends, gadgets or toys. But on Halloween we ALWAYS had the best costumes.
Kimmy, me & Lori

My mother is a seamstress. And what a talent she is. None of those plastic costumes in a box for us. We were the real deal. Some of my most memorable costumes the three of us had were, Raggedy Anns, I Dream of Genies, Space Girls and Witches.

Scary Mary

To this day Halloween is a special time in my home. The house is decorated inside and out. Costumes are planned months ahead. We attend every Halloween carnival and church activity available. Then there is the big adult party, where everyone lets their hair down, disguised as someone else. I have an arsenal of costumes, so my house becomes the local costume shop for all ages. Not to mention the makeup monsters in and out of the house. It's like a 2 week event here. My husband is a Halloween Scrooge. He says that no person should have to endure a holiday for months, as we usually start in August.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

100 things about me... holy cow.. here's 50

I love SPT so I guess I'll do this...

1. I can spend way too much time on the computer.
2. My children ground me. (No, not that kind of grounding)
3. My husband keeps me in check, and I him. I'm a balloon ready to float into oblivion and he can be a stick in the mud. I think they call it balance.
4. I am a makeup artist and a hair designer. If I have to work, this is what I'll do.
5. I envy stay at home moms.
6. I love it when I have a creative streak. I'm not so fond of the messy mess left in it's wake.
7. I make my family crazy with Halloween, I love it more than Christmas.
8. I love to make costumes and help others with theirs. I have an arsenal of costumes in my garage.
9. I love Disneyland. I could live there. I feel at peace and happy when I am there. I love Disney in general. I spent hours escaping my "Wicked Stepmother" immersed in my Disney encyclopedias as a child.
10. Maybe someday I can forgive my "Wicked Stepmother".
11. I am an only child, the oldest child and the middle child. As you read, you'll realize how confused I am. Well now you know why.
12. I do not like scary movies. Especially ones about ghosts or bad spirits. Monsters... don't bother me a bit.
13. I do like period flicks and comedy movies.

19. I think it is because I have a hard time hiding how I am feeling at the present, even if it has nothing to do with the people around me. My face is an open book. My poor daughter has the same trait.
20. I like to be alone.
21. I do not mind eating alone in restaurants, traveling alone or being home alone.
22. I dislike homework. Even if it isn't mine. I always have. I do my best to hide my disdain, to no avail.

35. Sometimes its a bad idea to walk down the aisle to your favorite song. People may start to dance.

47. I am a big fan of Jesus Christ.
48. I panicked when I was in the same room with Keanu Reeves, my teenage heartthrob crush when I was 31. I thought I was over him. And a professional makeup artist morphing into civilian is a bad bad thing...
49. I hid from Sean Connery in the commode closet.
50. Sometimes I miss my friends from high school.

Executive Action

Titel: Executive Action / Tre skott i Dallas - presidentmordet
Genre: Drama/Kriminal/Thriller
Land: USA
År: 1973
Regi: David Miller
I rollerna: Burt Lancaster, Robert Ryan, Will Geer, Ed Lauter

Man använder även riktiga klipp med bl.a.
