The day after Christmas we headed to the snow in our Taurus. You know how you always feel like your forgetting something when your packing and you can't put your finger on it? Well, I did put my finger on it a bit too late. No dog sitter... eek! Ya, all our regulars were out of town and there was no room at the inn (kennel) for poor Ace. So we brought 97 pounds of fur, panting and slobber with us on our 4 day trip in the back seat. The monkeys were really good sports about it. Especially when he would stretch out and cram the two of them into one seat. Before we knew it not only did he take up their space, his whole head would be on the arm rest in the front seat between Mike and I. I would finally get fed up and climb out of my seat and scrunch him back down to a reasonable position. Mike was sure we were gonna get a ticket for attempting to moon an officer while wrestling with a canine. On the last day of our "planned" trip to Flagstaff AZ, we met with Mike's BFF and his family. We spent the day at the mall, we swanked it up with a fancy schmancy dinner and movie with the kids at Sam's Club. Yep were big spenders.
One thing I learned that day, is that it isn't always about where you are but who your with. Recognize this blogger? Yep that's Jeanette from Bliss. She is Mike's/ BFF's/ eternal companion... AND... one of my good good friends. We had such a great time catching up with the Shumway's, and we were so sad that the day went by so fast. So we extended our 4 days to 6 and followed them home. We stayed up late just like old times talking the night away. We had a flippin YUMMY dinner the next night and once again stayed up TOO late lolly gagging. Jeanette and I had a great time talking about Bloggerland, and YES gossiping about many of you.. LOL
I've always considered myself a lazy friend. I'm not into high maintenance friendships. To me my most cherished friends are the ones where you can pick up where you left off, no matter the amount of time in between visits. It's easy and comfortable and you can just be yourself.
It really was a great way to end the year. But I'm happy to say bye bye to 2009. Glad to see it "Gone Gone Gone"..... moving on..
