Yes I'm talking about those products that can work wonderfully on a good day, however if you catch them on a bad day, they are really rubbish. You can't bring yourself to throw them out because you remember the times when they have worked wonders and looked so pretty. You keep them in the hope that they will restore themselves to their former glory or you'll find a way to make them work (a bit like that boyfriend you know was bad for you, but you stayed with him in the hope you could change him!ha ha...come on, we've ALL been there before!). A few culprits are:
NARS LAGUNA BRONZER - some days this can be an amazing bronzer that really lifts the face and is great for contouring, but if you use the wrong brush (not bad, just wrong) or you have ANY dry skin at all, it can go on patchy and muddy!Yuck!
NARS LIPGLOSSES - The colours are amazing, my personal favourite being Turkish Delight, but after a couple of months these seem to go off and end up stinking! The colour is gorgeous...the smell is horrible! The award stamped on it there must have been carried out by someone at Sephora who only tested it a few times! Little did they know the longevity of this product is terrible.
YSL FAUX CILS MASCARA - Now don't get me wrong...I LOVE this mascara, it's the only one I have found that makes my pitiful blonde lashes look long and thick and it never dries up and flakes off and ends up all over my face (pet hate of mine!). My problem is that the damn thing dries up within about 2 months, which is really quite shameful for a high end mascara. My Loreal Voluminous and Maxfactor Calorie 2000 last alot longer and cost half the price. I always go through periods of saying I won't get it again, then I remember how good it was for the first couple of months and cave in...we end up getting back together!
So, tell me, what are your love/hate products? I tag anyone who wants to join in! I feel like everyone needs to be warned about these kind of cosmetics that sometimes aren't all they're cracked up to be. There's nothing worse than buying products after they have been hyped up for months, or worse, years and then finding out that they're not that special...very disappointing! Maybe they are products, like mine above (minus the Nars lipgloss) that you WOULD repurchase but you just want to add a little warning about what can go wrong. I like to have all the information on high end products before I go spending a small fortune on them!
