Forgive me but my Tuesday was boring, yet another SPW!
So today I sat around alot after prepping background talent for this suave dude. Then I sat next to miss Anna Kendrick at lunch (aka Jessica from Twilight) and had a chit chat with her in the pass-van back to base camp. (didn't say a word about Twilight mind you, no civilian antics here) You might think this was the highlight of my day.... Eh!
I've not done many features by choice due to the grueling schedules, MAN O MAN are they rough. Movies are your life, when you commit to a feature! And the sitting around.. whew! My butt doubled in one day I think.
But any makeup artist who tells you they have zero interest in working as department head or key artist on a major motion picture it flat out lying! Sure I do... someday. But its a long term plan. When I'm an empty nester, maybe. But for now it's nice being a big fish in a small pond doing commercials and print ads. But let me tell ya, the economy has kept me from turning my nose up to film work, and yes I think it would be hella-cool to be in the position of one these two dudes one day.
Meet Jeff Lewis and Brad Look (seriously click on their names). This is my something new. I love making new friends. Especially ones that are makeup artists, Trekies (because they both worked on Star Trek series'), 80's music fanatics and book lovers. Yup I had a cool day. So what if I was just an assistant, and did hair on scary extras with dirty hair (that whole your hair is easier to style when its dirty, -myth-, wash your freakin hair people, thats just gross!), I logged union hours and made two awesome new buds.. my highlight for sure!
