I know I haven't been as active on my blog as usual so apologies for that! I have been involved in an exciting new business venture which is currently taking up a large proportion of my time...all will be revealed in the near future!
I decided to revisit a favourite go-to look a couple of days ago which was originally inspired by Kylie Minogue's makeup in the 'All The Lovers' music video. I love this eyeshadow combination for a night-time look because the shades really glisten and become so illuminated in darker conditions (if that makes sense). Sorry the pics are a wee bit hazy, they weren't meant to be like that but my camera decided to act up!

My all time favourite lashes are the Ardell 109 or 110 ones because they are just so easy to apply and pretty much fuss free but I do ALWAYS use Revlon lash glue because it's the most reliable for me. I personally much prefer false lashes that look as natural as possible and just add that extra bit of volume and fullness. I'm not into drag queen-esque ones with diamantes, feathers and lace hanging off them! I have tried some of the Revlon Fantasy Lengths lashes before and was impressed with them as a more affordable option (they are only £4.65 each in Boots). My faves are the 'Flirty' style as they make your lashes look fluttery without looking fake. The band on them is very thin and although it comes out of the packaging quite straight in shape, it can easily be manipulated to fit your eye shape.
I love any product that can add super shine to my hair but many shine sprays can leave your hair a bit heavy or even greasy. I recently started using the Tigi Catwalk Volume Collection Your Highness Weightless Shine Spray...yeah it's a mouthful isn't it! It claims "the finishing touch for any voluminous style is healthy shine. This practically weightless spray eliminates frizz while adding luminous shine". Firstly, this stuff smells amazing...I think it reminds me a bit of Armani Code perfume. It basically smells gorgeous and I'm up for anything that makes my hair smell amazing whilst adding shine. The spray also has heat protectant qualities so you can use it before you blowdry or after. It really is weightless and leaves no oily/greasy residue on your hair...
My hair was left feeling fresh, light and really natural. It left my hair with illuminating shine and the fragrance lasted all night. It helped to smooth down flyaway hairs too leaving my hair looking really healthy. Because I have fine hair, I have to be extra careful which products I use so as not to weigh my barnet down but this stuff is now my new favourite shine spray!
I also like the fact that it has a fine spray nozzle so only the slightest mist comes out to delicately coat your hair with shine. The black, purple and silver packaging is also really pretty!

Another product that has completely turned my opinion has been Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara which I first heard of on The Yummy Mummy's Beauty Blog and also Tanya Burr's YT channel. Now I have never worn mascara on my bottom lash line because:
a) I have deep set eyes so I'm prone to dark circles
b) I have never been able to find a mascara that doesn't smudge or flake on lower lashes
c) Normal mascara wands always made it incredibly difficult to apply it without making a mess
It's like you need a completely different formula of mascara to work on your lower lashes and until now, I avoided applying it there altogether. Because of the drier formula and teeny brush wand of this specially designed Clinique mascara, you can have lightly defined lower lashes without the mess!
I don't like to have heavy mascara on my bottom lashes but sometimes it's nice to define them for night-time looks. The last thing I want is clumpy, thick lower lashes which would just accentuate my dark circles! So this mascara is perfect for me and the small brush makes the job SO much easier. I was just left with a clean, smudge free lower lashline with no splodges on my skin.
I don't know why it has taken this long for a brand to catch on to this idea. By lightly coating my lower lashes, my eyes actually appear bigger and that's the look I was going for. You can also get this mascara in Brown for a more subtle daytime look. I love this Clinique mascara and I love the fact that it has enabled me to try something out that I would otherwise have avoided. Thumbs up!
I just had to include this funny pic of little Wolfey. I gave him a little noodle and he somehow got it stuck on his head! Tt took him forever to firstly realise he had a noodle on his head and then even longer to get it off! You can actually see the frustration on his face! ha ha. Damn you noodle!
I was watching Later With Jools Holland as usual last night and I was amazed by this British guy's performance. He definitely falls into the category of unexpected. I mean he looks like an indie Prince Harry but he sings like a soulful angel! It just shows you can never judge a book by it's cover! What's even more impressive is that he is only 20 years old and he performed this song using only his own voice recorded and played back on the spot to create harmonies and beats. Impressive stuff!
