Leona Lewis tops the US charts!
X Factor winner Leona Lewis became the first British female in over two decades to top the American charts, with her debut single Bleeding Love. The former receptionist - who said it was her "dream" to crack the US - follows in the footsteps of Kim Wilde, who reached number one in The Billboard Hit 100 chart in 1987 with "You Keep Me Hangin On". Appearing on Oprah with her mentor Simon Cowell, she was given a standing ovation after an emotional performance of Bleeding Love, while the chatshow host told Hackney-born Leona: "You're the real-deal girl. Talk about a star is born!" Via: www.thisislondon.co.uk/showbiz
